Letting Go, Don’t

The photo story challengeCreate a poem/story from this photo challenge.

She started to pedal

He held on to the bike

She didn’t move

He just stood there

A smile grew

On both of their faces

Figuring out

What was really going on

She knew he didn’t

Want to let go

Of her

He knew

He couldn’t let go

Of her

She let him chase

He had to have her

She put on a good show

He watched from a distance

She smiled at him

He smiled back

The game was set

The game was on

He knew what

He wanted

It was her

She knew what

He wanted

And it was her

She let him hug her

He didn’t want to let go

She let him hold her hand

He didn’t want to let go

She let him kiss her cheek

He didn’t want to let go

She told him her goodbyes

He didn’t want to let go

He let her go slowly

Knowing that tomorrow

He will see her again

She didn’t want the game to end

But she let him go

Knowing he will see her again
